Gaia's Garden Natural Watercolours (set of 8)
This palette contains 8 half pans of PLANT-BASED (flowers, trees, & plants) pigments that have been painstakingly and lovingly handmade! Many of these pigments come from my own summer dye garden or have been harvested from the forests of my island home. Other pigments are derived from plant matter purchased from Maiwa Textiles.
From start to finish it takes 3 weeks to turn a plant into a watercolour. (A day each of dye extraction, lake pigment making, mixing/mulling into watercolour pigment, then a week or two of slow drying the watercolour 'cakes'.
Please note: every half pan of paint is packed with a LOT of plant pigment. Some pigments in this palette are bold, some are more delicate and will deepen when you paint in LAYERS. Some pigments activate VERY quickly, and some take more time after they are spritzed with water. Each pigment is very unique and their strength & lightfastness will also vary.

It takes a lot of plant matter to make watercolours. It is a considerably longer & arguably a more complicated process than watercolours made from earth minerals.
