This Great Blue Heron is constructed on a 1.5" thick birch wood panel. It is coated in a UV protective gloss varnish. It is my largest mixed media to date and is a striking piece of art if I do say so myself! The bird's feathers are created from individually cut pieces of paper and the wing is adorned with some sparkly upcycled jewelry.
